Residents of the city of Neenah and the Neenah school district are invited to submit questions to be directed at candidates for mayor, district one alderman, and school board before Thursday, January 27. Questions may be sent by email to wcLWVinfo@gmail.com or in a message on Facebook to LWV of Winnebago County.

The League of Women Voters of Winnebago County will videotape a forum with candidates for Neenah district one alderman including Kristen Sandvick, Debra Franckowiak, and incumbent Kathie Boyette, as well as with candidates for Neenah mayor Jane Lang, Kelly Behrmann, and Brian Borchardt. Next month’s primary election will narrow the field of candidates for both positions from three to two.

The League will also tape a forum with Neenah Joint School District board candidates incumbent Lauri Asbury, Tara Brzezinski, Sara Johnson, Len Kachinsky, Corinne Meyer, Sarah Moore-Nokes, Lydia Rhoads, and Rocky Schafer. This forum is cosponsored by Fox Cities Advocates for Public Education. The primary election will narrow the field to six candidates for three seats.

On the advice of the Winnebago County Health Department, the general public is not invited to join the forums. Watch the candidates after February 3; links will be posted on the LWV of Winnebago County Facebook page and at lwvwinnebago.org. The primary election is Tuesday, February 15. The spring election is Tuesday, April 5.

Candidate information for contested races in the spring election is also available at Vote411.org where voters enter their address and view responses to questions written by their candidates. Voters are reminded that they may request absentee ballots to be mailed to them by visiting MyVote.wi.gov and clicking on Vote Absentee by Mail.

LWV is a nonpartisan group of women and men who work to inform voters and encourage them to vote. Visit lwvwinnebago.org to find out how to join.
